“If people are drawn to me, I think it’s because there’s something going on inside of me that’s positive.” As a mom of two young boys and co-founder of The Yoga Sanctuary studios in Toronto, Cynthia is committed to a path of natural aging.
Her approach to aging is aligned with her commitment to being in tune with nature. She spent eight years tree planting and much of her adult life practicing and teaching Yoga, and seeks to bring nature into her life in every way possible. “With age, I’ve gone more natural as opposed to more maintenance.”
The path to embracing her natural self began when she turned 40, as she finally began to break free from society – and even her own mother’s ideas of beauty and self-acceptance. “It took me until I was 40 to rebel against my mother’s desire for me to be a blonde – she didn’t like my dark hair!” She now exudes the quiet but strong confidence of a woman who accepts herself as nature intended her to be.
That being said, Cynthia passes no judgment. “If you’re a high-maintenance person, and if that fits you and works for you, than by all means. If that makes you happy, run with it.” |
